Shiron Lindsay ’08 has quietly purchased homes across the city and rehabbed them largely with her own sweat equity and savings to provide safe, dignified housing for some of Baltimore’s most vulnerable individuals: grandparents raising grandchildren, recovering addicts, individuals with disabilities, families emerging from homelessness.

To honor its founder, IAP will now be known as the C.D. Mote, Jr. Incentive Awards Program. The former UMD President is being recognized for contributions to the engineering field and for expanding education access for students from public high schools in Baltimore, Charles, Montgomery and Prince George's County.
We are so incredibly thankful for students like ours who continue to serve and give back to others, even during a pandemic! These are some of our amazing students who volunteered at the College Park Community Food Bank in November and assisted with the drive-thru food distribution for families in need.
